# CONTACT_MUST_TEXT_FIRST

> Number only replies to people who text it first

## What happened

The phone number is on the AI Agent plan, which only replies. For a direct message, the person hasn't texted that number yet. Group chats aren't available on these numbers at all, even when everyone in the group has texted the number.

## How to fix it

For a direct message, don't retry: wait for the person to text your number, then reply. For a group chat, or to start conversations yourself, send from a number on a plan that can, or contact [support@blujay.io](mailto:support@blujay.io) to change the plan.
