# ATTACHMENT_FETCH_FAILED

> Media URL could not be fetched

| HTTP status | Retryable |
| - | - |
| `422` | No |

## What happened

Blujay could not safely download the media URL. It may be private, redirect somewhere unsafe, time out, or return the wrong type.

## How to fix it

Use a public HTTPS URL that returns the file directly, or upload the file with `POST /v1/attachments`.

## Example response

An illustrative example. The `message` wording and the contents of `details` vary; branch on `error.code`.

```json theme={null}
{
  "status": "error",
  "error": {
    "code": "ATTACHMENT_FETCH_FAILED",
    "message": "Media URL could not be fetched",
    "type": "validation",
    "http_status": 422,
    "retryable": false,
    "doc_url": "https://docs.blujay.io/errors/attachment-fetch-failed",
    "details": []
  },
  "trace_id": "trc_8f2a1c0e4b7d",
  "timestamp": "2026-10-14T17:30:48.000Z"
}
```
